PsychiatryWatch is a nonprofit organization that investigates and reports information regarding corruption, conflicts of interest, medical abuses, and coercion in psychiatry.

PsychiatryWatch is independent, non-partisan, and not associated with nor influenced by any medical, pharmaceutical organization or association, or any government department.

The PsychiatryWatch website is a unique resource for patients. We provide information that patients can use to protect themselves from physical and psychological harm when receiving medical treatment. It includes unbiased and verified reports on unethical, predatory and harmful conduct, that threatens the safety and well-being of patients.

PsychiatryWatch is empowering patients by providing:

• a voice for patients;
• reports on conflicts of interest between psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical industry;
• reports on cases of medical coercion and abuse;
• information on harmful and addictive medications;

Our Purpose

We believe that patients should have a right to dignity, respect, informed consent, and privacy in all medical matters, which are too often missing from medical and psychiatric treatment in Canada.

PsychiatryWatch was established to provide a voice for patients, and to provide a resource for people who wish to protect themselves and their families from preventable physical and psychological harm when they seek medical care.

What We Do

PsychiatryWatch provides:

• information about conflicts of interest between psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies;
• a platform for patients to expose cases of coercion, abuse, and unprofessional conduct in psychiatric facilities;
• alerts about psychiatrists, psychiatric facilities, and treatments that place patients at needless risk of harm, either physical or psychological;
• a platform by which patients can learn about and discuss medical issues and experiences;
• a voice for patients in our fight for a healthcare system which respects the dignity, freewill and privacy of patients;
• other tools and resources for patients that can help them protect themselves and their family from preventable harm and abuse, due to corruption, conflicts of interest or incompetence;
